Oreland C. Joe Workshops
Every two years, Oreland C. Joe and his
staff offer workshops in stone and oil base clay. The workshop provides a
learning opportunity for beginning, intermediate and professional level
sculptors. Students are taught the basics of stone carving. Students have access
to power tools, pneumatic tools and students are taught the correct method in
operating the power tools. Cutting, chiseling, grinding, sanding and the
different steps to polishing will be taught. Critique and demonstrations will be
done by Oreland C. Joe daily. The workshop will be held at the Oreland C. Joe
Sculpture Studios in Kirtland, New Mexico. (Kirtland is located 10 miles west of
Farmington, NM - Northwestern NM). The Oreland C. Joe Workshop will be limited
to 14 students. For your convenience, we are displaying a few pictures of our
students creating their sculptures at the Oreland C. Joe Studios. We hope you
enjoy the pictures.
