Oreland C. Joe's Favorite stone medium is marble. Marble that is imported from Italy (carrara, statuary white and bardiglio), Portugal, Belgium, Spain and other countries. Domestic marbles used for sculpture are from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Georgia. Each image is drawn many times on paper. When time allows, a potential idea may be made into a clay maquette form to study. Anatomical proportions must fit correctly in a chosen piece of marble. Oreland's C. Joe's marble sculptures are exquisite and one-of-a-kind, and many have won major awards at prominent recognized exhibitions. Oreland's works can also be found in private, corporate and museum collections in the United States as well as abroad. Major life-sized and monumental works either in stone or bronze are available for commission through the Oreland C. Joe Studio.
