The Native American Sculpture Society
Promoting Stone Sculpture
In the fall of 2000, a group of well known Native American sculptures came together for a week long symposium to carve marble. The symposium was held at the Oreland C. Joe Sculpture Studio in Kirtland, New Mexico. The members that attended the symposium were Oreland C. Joe, Cliff Fragua, Kathy Whitman, Alvin Marshall, Rick Nez, Evelyn Fedricks and Tim Washburn.

During the week long symposium, the members created the Native American Sculpture Society. The Society was born with a goal to promote and sustain Native American stone sculpture. The Native American Sculpture Society is the first of it's kind and is in the infant stage but will soon be a force in the art world. This website will continue to update you on the progress of the Society.
